Illustrative project scene for Hotel 8MP Motorized Cameras: Compare NexPro-Link with a Named Dahua Model; the image does not document a delivered customer project or depict an identified product model.

Both selected cameras provide a listed 3840×2160 output, but their lens and environmental fields differ. Use equal view geometry and the actual hotel exposure to select a qualified alternative.

Section 01

Select exact models within the documented scope

Compare NexPro-DM2812M88-8MP-DIC-AI with Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-ZAS-PV-PRO-ATC only where their documented functions address the same hotel view and environment. For an ordinary public area, shortlist suitable standard models; include the selected Dahua anti-corrosion variant when the exposure requires that specialist scope. Shared 8MP and motorized-lens descriptions do not establish equivalent images or value.

The NexPro-Link fields come from the supplied DM2812M product PDF. The Dahua fields come from the cited regional product page recorded in the evidence package. Preserve both complete references when requesting a quotation. A related model without the same suffix cannot inherit this comparison's environmental or optical fields.

Define the intended target plane and permitted mounting position before discussing replacement. An entrance task may need a particular detail view; an exterior service route adds exposure requirements. Document those decisions separately so the buyer can see whether an alternative changes the required task or merely changes the equipment used to perform it.

The cited Dahua Japan page separately lists the exact ATC variant's 8MP output, 2.7-12 mm motorized lens and IP67 field. This corroborates those stated fields, not suitability for every destination, a night-performance result or equivalence to a different suffix. Ask the proposer for the current offered regional model and its controlling datasheet.

Section 02

Compare sensor output and lens ranges

Both selected sources list a 1/1.8-inch sensor format and 3840×2160 output. The NexPro-Link PDF states 25 fps at 8MP; the Dahua page lists 25/30 fps modes. Retain the applicable mode in the camera schedule so the proposed recorder and viewing configuration can be checked against the intended stream.

The listed motorized ranges are 2.8-12 mm for NexPro-DM2812M88-8MP-DIC-AI and 2.7-12 mm for the Dahua model. Those values describe focal-length adjustment. Without corresponding field-of-view data and active image-area information, they cannot establish an exact viewing angle or the width captured at a particular distance.

Motorized optical adjustment can help commission framing at a difficult-to-reach position. It does not make a fixed-position camera a PTZ, and digital enlargement does not add original image detail. Consider access for later adjustment and maintenance alongside the lens range. A slightly wider listed focal endpoint cannot justify deleting a planned view without checking the actual task.

Section 03

Separate lighting and environmental functions

The NexPro-Link PDF lists dual light, two-way audio, PoE and IP66 for the selected Dome-series model. The Dahua regional page lists IP67 and positions its exact variant for anti-corrosion applications. Keep the enclosure difference visible, while assessing corrosion suitability through the required environmental scope. An enclosure rating alone does not establish every environmental property.

For an indoor public corridor, that specialist positioning may not address a necessary task. For an exposed coastal or corrosive location, removing it from an alternative could remove a required qualification. Neither conclusion follows from megapixels. Record water exposure and corrosion conditions independently before pricing the appropriate model group.

Lighting functions need their own assessment. Define whether the hotel requires color information, moving detail or an overview, and whether visible illumination is permitted. The matching sensor format supplies no comparative night result. Evaluate recorded footage under relevant conditions, and make a separate authorized decision about audio rather than enabling it because hardware supports it.

Section 04

Calculate an equal-width pixel comparison

Assume each camera frames the same perpendicular target plane, 12 m wide, with the listed 3840 horizontal pixels and no cropping. Planning density equals horizontal output divided by target width: 3840÷12=320 px/m for each output. The 12 m width is illustrative geometry, while the resolution and lens fields are product-source facts.

The equal result removes pixel count as a reason to claim a geometric advantage at that width. It leaves optical framing, exposure and the recorded task to resolve. The 2880-versus-3840 comparison elsewhere in the source library concerns different output modes and must not be substituted for this matched 8MP comparison.

Actual useful detail also depends on angle, motion, compression and lighting. Review footage at the required target position instead of enlarging unrelated still images. If the approved view width changes, recalculate density and confirm that the chosen mounting and optical adjustment can produce that view. The calculation establishes neither recognition rate nor reliability.

Section 05

Identify recorder and power dependencies

Check the proposed recorder against the actual 8MP streams, aggregate input and required playback workload. NexPro-NVR4449-4K lists 49 channels and 320 Mbps input, but its summary lists 49×5MP/9×4K. The channel total cannot approve an arbitrary number of simultaneous 8MP streams. Disk compatibility, usable capacity and any intended RAID mode require separate confirmation.

CASE01 is a 32-camera planning reference using 5MP candidates and assumed bitrates. Replacing its camera schedule with these 8MP products requires a fresh mode and storage check. Its hypothetical 12 W camera peak is also not a measured maximum for either camera in this article.

Obtain peak device power for the selected illumination state and confirm per-port PoE support plus each switch's total budget. NexPro SW-POE1618G remains an inquiry candidate because its supplied speed fields conflict and numerical total power is absent. Required event integration also needs device/client function checks; an ONVIF description does not prove every advanced event or audio workflow.

Section 06

Price the appropriate environmental alternatives

For normal public zones, compare models qualified for the required view and local installation conditions. Consider NexPro-DM2812M88-8MP-DIC-AI where its documented scope fits and the selected system supports the required streams. For corrosive exposure, compare candidates explicitly qualified for that environment, including the named Dahua variant where relevant. This evidence does not qualify the NexPro-Link model as an anti-corrosion substitute.

Request prices on equal quantities, accessories and delivery terms after resolving technical exceptions. Include mounting and maintenance requirements that differ between candidates. No same-condition image test or scope-matched quotation in this package establishes a winner or savings percentage.

Send the target width and distance, mounting height, lighting restrictions and environmental brief to info@nexpro-link.com with the exact competing model and proposed recorder. NexPro-Link can discuss model matching and coordinated supply through hotel project equipment support or BOQ and tender support. Change the shortlist when the environment, required night task or system support differs from the original brief.

Section 07

Buyer questions

Can the two brands share one replacement-camera line? Keep separate full model lines until the required replacement functions are confirmed. Similar appearance or output does not establish matching power, events, optical framing or firmware behavior.

Does a missing maximum-power field mean low consumption? No. It remains unknown. Request the selected model's peak power and operating conditions before approving its PoE allocation or carrying that load into a UPS calculation.

Can the comparison justify fewer cameras? Only a revised task and layout assessment can justify a lower count. The listed focal ranges and equal 320 px/m example do not demonstrate that one candidate removes an occluded or separately required view.
